St. Patrick's Day Eye Look + NYC Review
St. Patrick's day is right around the corner! It's time to bust out the green to ward off the pinching. This is a simple eye look for us monolids that will go great with our green nails and green shirts! In my opinion this would work best for monolids and look better with glasses than without.
Start out with an eye shadow primer to get the maximum color and time out of your eye shadow. About a rice grain size amount for each eye. Then starting with the lighter green eye shadow color, sweep it across your lid from your inner corner to about 3/4 the way. You want to check to see that the color shows when you open your eyes. About half a centimeter of color showing above your eye when open is good. Take the darker green and create a wing at the outer corner and blend it into the lighter green as you sweep in. Concentrate the darker green at the outer wing and corner. Blend well for a gradient effect. Next take a black eyeliner (Pencil, gel, liquid, whatever) and line your eyes, winging it out by following the eye shadow wing. I like adding a little sparkle so I took a black glitter eyeliner and went over the line I made and then lined my lower lash line. The reason I go over a line I already made is because glitter eyeliners don't glide on as smooth so it would be difficult to make a wing with them. Apply mascara if you please. I think it would be best to put on a sheer pink or nude lip color with these eyes to attract more focus to your eyes. Red lips would look a bit tacky with this eye look.
NYC's City Duet Eyeshadows are pretty nice. The only things is that you have to build up the color. NYC's eye shadow applicators are too small and just plain suck. It blends well together and is pretty cheap at $2.99 USD.
Look at them early crow's feet. ): Peace.

Pencil Eyeliners Galore!
I've collected a handful of eyeliners that I've been trying for a while now that I wanted to review. Searching for that perfect pencil that has lasting power can be an expensive journey.
Next are the Toki Doki Brillante Glitter Eyeliner in Rondine and Skeletro. These were only $5 USD a pop since they aren't going to sold anymore. At first, fresh out of the plastic wrapping, it was really hard, and then it became soft. It may be a little scratchy so some because of the glitter, but it's not too bad. I really like the glitter in them. I haven't had a problem using this on my water line, in fact I prefer it there. I like using these two colors to create a gradient line. I got a compliment from one of my guy friends when I did that. These might be on the Sephora website still so catch while you can!
Next is the Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner in Bullet, a silvery color. This was around $5 USD at Walmart. This one super soft and pretty sheer. It's good to use at the inner corner of your eyes for that bright and awake look. The chopstick look to it is pretty tempting to use to eat some ramen.
Of course you're going to need a good sharpener for all them pencils. This is a Sephora brand dual sharpener. This is an excellent sharpener and it even has a chamber to hold the shavings. At $5 USD, it's a steal. I haven't tried the wider side since I don't have a chubby pencil liner. I've tried regular pencil sharpeners which work, but not good enough. The NYC dual sharpener, which was only $0.97 USD, sucked even worse than a regular pencil sharpener.
Do you have any favorite pencil liners that you absolutely love?

Partaaay~!
I had fun coming up with an outfit with the clothes I had in my closet (and on my chair, and on the floor). It's a late night party at a friend's house and I'm going to guess a lot of crazy stuff will be happening.
I wanted something casual, yet party-ish at the same time so I came up with this.
I don't have that exact cardigan, but the only difference is the sleeve length. the one I have is a 3/4 sleeve. It's from Gilly Hicks and was a redline (clearance). I love how pearly the buttons look on this. The tank is from Gilly Hicks as well. I like it because the layers can hide any bumps or lumps on your belly. The jeggings are from American Eagle Outfitters and was also on sale. These jeggings are so soft and they look like real jeans. After wearing these, I am spoiled. I try on other brands of jeggings and they feel all scratchy on your legs. AE jeggings are pretty expensive, but if you can get these on sale, they are a really good investment. Next are the peep toe heels I got from Sears. They're not too formal and not too casual. The last is a harmonica necklace I got at Forever 21. The picture doesn't show the exact one I have, but close enough. It's on a long chain so I can easily throw it on without the hassle of clasps.

New York Color
New York Color (N.Y.C.) is a drugstore makeup brand that is probably one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest, you can get. I've read many positive reviews about their products so I went ahead and bought a few things from their line. I will be talking about their Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder in Translucent, Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow, Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Black, and Liquid Eyeliner in Black.
Starting with the Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder in Translucent. It works well with light skin to medium skin tones. It's not completely translucent, but when you blend it in, it makes your skin look and feel silky soft. This comes in a darker shade too. I really like the compact design too. It's not too big or small, has a mirror, and it's easy to open. I would definitely repurchase this. This is $2.99 USD on their website.

The Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow goes on perfectly. In the picture above, it's swatched kind of heavy with a powder puff. Using a brush would be the best way to apply it. I really like the shade of pink it is. It's not a dark pink or a hot pink, which is nice on my skin. The feeling is similar to the Smooth Skin Face Powder. It blends easily as well. I don't like that it doesn't come with a brush to apply and that there's no space to put in a powder puff or a sponge. It doesn't close securely, but it stays closed in your makeup bag. This is $4.99 USD on their website.
The Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Black is genuinely waterproof. I use Sephora's eye makeup remover, the one that is not waterproof, and I have to rub a decent amount to get it off. Although the black color is not a deep black, it's still nice for a softer look. This is $3.99 USD on their website.
The Liquid Eyeliner in Black is very black, like most liquid liners should be. It dries quickly and has good staying power, even after applying eye shadow semi vigorously. The brush doesn't make a super fine line, but it's a good thickness, as you can see from the swatch. I only use liquid liner to wing out my liner, not actually line my eyes. This is $2.99 USD on their website.
For the price, these are a great way to start off using make up. I'm really pleased with the quality for the buck with the N.Y.C. products so far. I've heard that their eye shadows are very pigmented so I will have to try that.
